Review of Hong-Sau Technique

This ancient and powerful technique of Hong-Sau helps to develop the mind’s latent powers of concentration. Through regular practice one learns to withdraw thought and energy from outward distractions so that they may be focused on any goal to be achieved or problem to be solved. Or one may direct the concentrated attention that results from successful practice toward realizing the Divine Consciousness within.

YSS/SRF Lessons students are invited to join a review class on this meditation technique and receive step-by-step instructions in one of the essential techniques of the Kriya Yoga path as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda.

This class is for YSS/SRF Lessons students only. If you are interested in becoming a YSS/SRF Lessons student, and are a resident of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh or Maldives, then click here. Those residing in other countries, please click here.

We ask that no recordings or screenshots of this class be made.

1:30 pm to 2:15 pm (IST)

Autobiography of a Yogi – Group Study and Meditation

In honour of the 75th Anniversary of Paramahansa Yoganandaji’s Autobiography of a Yogi we will offer this special group study and meditation. Open to all, this session will begin with an opening prayer and chant, followed by periods of silent meditation interspersed with recorded selections from Autobiography of a Yogi, concluding with a closing prayer. This special session will allow devotees to listen to and silently contemplate on Guruji’s words in this acclaimed spiritual classic. Both a Telegu and an English study room will be available.

3:15 pm to 4:00 pm (IST)

Kirtan Session

Join in a devotional chanting session led by a YSS Sannyasi during one of our previous retreats.
Paramahansa Yoganandaji says: “Sankirtans or musical gatherings are an effective form of yoga or spiritual discipline, necessitating intense concentration, absorption in the seed thought and sound. Because man himself is an expression of the Creative Word, sound exercises on him a potent and immediate effect. Great religious music of East and West bestows joy on man because it causes a temporary vibratory awakening of one of his occult spinal centres. In those blissful moments a dim memory comes to him of his divine origin.”
