About the Event

When I am gone the teachings will be the guru….Through the teachings you will be in tune with me and the great Gurus who sent me.

— Paramahansa Yogananda

On Saturday, March 2, YSS sannyasis conducted a six-hour meditation in honour of Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri and our Gurudeva Paramahansa Yogananda to commemorate the special days of their mahasamadhi — a God-realized yogi’s final conscious exit from the body.

This commemorative long meditation began with Energization Exercises, followed by inspirational readings, and periods of chanting and meditation. It concluded with the performance of Paramahansa Yogananda’s Healing Technique and a closing prayer.

The schedule of the meditation on Saturday, March 2, was as follows:

  • Energization Exercises – 7:40 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • First Session – 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • Second Session – 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
